Thomas Morris Chester, Black Civil War Correspondent

On Apr 6, 1865: Writing in the ‘Philadelphia Press’ under the pen name  “Rollin”, Thomas Morris Chester describes the Union Army’s triumphant entry into Richmond, VA, during the Civil War. He was the 1st Black Civil War correspondent on the front lines.
