Workers at a Whole Foods Market in Pennsylvania have voted to unionize. They are the first group of employees to successful unioize at an Amazon-owned grocery store chain.
About 57% of the employees cast votes in favor of joining a local chapter of the United Food and Commerical Workers International Union.
This is the first successful entry of organized labor into Amazon's grocery business.

Region 4- Philadelphia conducted a ballot count today for 297 full-time and part-time employees at Whole Foods in Philadelphia, PA to vote on union representation by UFCW Local 1176 Keystone State.
Workers voted 130 to 100 for union representation. There were three challenged ballots that won’t be counted, because they aren’t determinative to the outcome of election. The employer must begin bargaining in good faith with the union. Parties have five business days to file objections to the election. If no objections are filed, the result will be certified.

Voters for union: 130
Votes against representation: 100
Challenged ballots: 3
Total valid votes cast: 233
