Eldon Revolutionary Union Movement(ELRUM) Autoworkers Strike,1969

On 22 January 1969, Black workers at the Eldon Chrysler plant in Detroit marched on the autoworkers' union with a list of grievances. The workers had formed ELRUM - the Eldon Avenue Revolutionary Union Movement - and they called a strike the next day, keeping out two thirds of the workforce. However, the company retaliated by firing and disciplining dozens of militants. DRUM was able to rebuild its presence at the plant by the following year. This is our podcast episode about the group, part of the League of Revolutionary Black Workers: https://workingclasshistory.com/2018/08/28/e12-the-league-of-revolutionary-black-workers-in-detroit/
