This informational provides information about the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC). SNCC was founded under the watchful eye of Ella Baker, Executive Director of the Southern Leadership Conference (SCLC) in 1961 at Shaw University in Raleigh, NC. The organization spearheaded voting rights and registration campaigns throughout the South. it also took a leafi role in Freedom Summer in 1964. Freedom Summer was a massive political action and voting registration drive in Mississippi.
