Dr Rebecca Davis Lee Crumpler (Feb 8, 1831 - Mar 9, 1895). 1st Black woman to become a physician in the U.S. She was also one of the 1st female physician authors in the 19th century. In 1883, she published ‘A Book of Medical Discourses’.
