Katherine Dunham: Scholar-activist-artist

Katherine Duham ( 1909-2006) was an African American dancer, choregrapher, anthropologist and socia activist. She had a extremely successful dancer career ad directed her own school and dance company for years. She is considered the Matriarch of Black Dance.
