Dr. Mustafa Santiago Ali is the Executive Vice President of Conservation & Justice for the National Wildlife Federation (NWF), former Interim Chief of Programs at the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS), and Instructor at American University. He is the Founder and CEO of Revitalization Strategies. He also serves as a commissioner for The American Academy of Arts and Sciences (AAAS). He is an award-winning writer and poet focused on social justice. Dr. Ali is frequently seen on television, including appearances on MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, VICE, FUSE, BET, National Geographic, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, and Democracy NOW! - #Project2025 - - First, they came for the Government workers, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Government worker.
Then they came for the #Immigrants, and I did not speak out— Because I was not an Immigrant.
Then they came for the #Activists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not an Activist.
Then they came for the Reproductive #health community, and I did not speak out— Because I was not in need of an abortion.
Then they came for the Muslims, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Muslim.
Then they came for the #LGBTQ+ community, and I did not speak out— Because I was not LGBTQ+.
Then they came for the #Black community, and I did not speak out— Because I was not Black.
Then they came for the #Teachers, and I did not speak out— Because I was not Teacher.
Then they came for the #Scientists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Scientist.
Then they came for the #Journalist, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Journalist.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
