Charles Diggs, 1st Black Congressman from Michigan

Charles Diggs, Jr joined the ancestors (Dec 2, 1922 - Aug 24, 1998). 1st African American elected to Congress from Michigan. An early member of the civil rights movement, he attended the murder trial of Emmett Till. He was the 1st chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus. The honorable Congressman Diggs attended Fisk University and the University of Michigan.
