On February 8, 1943 Captain Hugh Mulzac and crew members of a new Liberty Ship [SS Booker T. Washington] just after it completed its maiden voyage to England. Mulzac had previosuly joined with Marcus Garvey and the UNIA. he served as Captain of the SS Yartmouth in Garvey's Black Star Steam Line.
