Black Studies 2021: A Plan for Action

First, I want to thank you for allowing abdulslist to contribute to your thinking about the content of Black Studies.  I hope this has been an exciting exercise, a sort of fun process to think about about  new and old subjects.

Of course now you know about my new book on the History of Black Studies.  Please read it, add it to your course readings, critique it, and help us gain more of the knowledge of our history that we need.

I want to encourage this path with a new Action Plan I am proposing for Black Studies.  10 projects to incorporate in our teaching. Please critique this.  Add to it.  Document what you have already been doing.  Help all of us with your thinking.  Is this a program that needs to be adopted by NCBS and/or ASALH?  Why not?  What is our collective action plan in Black Studies if we have one.

Is individuality the best we can do?  Are elites free to do what they want or do they have the responsibility to help pull all of us together to do what must be done.  In any case, we all know that just a little common effort in our teaching will make a big impact, a big difference.
