Billie Holldiay was one of the preminent African American jazz artists of the twentieth centuries. Despite a chaotic childhood and a lifelong addiction to adrugs, Holiday managed to produce some of the most iconic music of the century. She was nominated from 2 Grammy Awards posthumously. She was named one of the 50 Great Voices of All Time by NPR and a flurry of films have recently been produced about her life.
