Aaron Douglas joined the ancestors (May 26, 1899 - Feb 2, 1979). Painter, illustrator, visual arts educator, major figure in the Harlem Renaissance. His art works addressed social issues around race and segregation in the U.S by utilizing African-centric imagery.
