#OTD Robert Hayden joined the ancestors (Aug 4, 1913 - Feb 25, 1980). Poet, essayist, educator. He served as Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress; 1976- 1978, a role today known as US Poet Laureate. Mr Hayden was the 1st Black writer to hold the office.
