This informational blog explores the legalization of Black hair styles, Previously forbidden and discouraged, Black hairstyles have been and are now part of a concerted effort to challenge often racist and arbitrary codes banning self-expression. Below please find the history behind this anti-discriminatory movement and success in legalizing Black hairstyles Most notably, the Crown Act, which passed the House of Representatives on September 2020.
