This informational blog highlights the life and career of Lani Guinier (1950=2021). Guinier was the first African American woman to receive tenure at the Harvard University Law School. Prior to joining the law faculty at Harvard, she taught for ten years at the University of Pennsylvania. She was a tireless advocate for Civil Rights, women and the law, affirmative action and minority rights. She promoted critical race theory and formulations to increase and protect voting rights.
