Jerry Butler was a soul-singer, producer, musician and politican. He served as the lead singer of the R&B group The Impressions. He left the group in 1960 and achieved solo fame with hits such as "He will Break Your Heart," "Let It Be Me" and "Only the Strong Survive." Butler achieved over 55 Billboard and R&B Chart Hits. From 1985 to 2018, he served as a Commissioner for Cook County, Ilinois. He chaired the Health and Hospitals Committee and was Vice-Chair of the construction committee.
