Huey Newton and "Revolutionary Intercommunalism"

On 18 November 1970, Black Panther leader, Huey P. Newton, gave a speech to 3000 people at Boston College's Roberts Centre on the subject of 'Revolutionary Intercommunalism'.

Written shortly after his release from solitary confinement, Newton's theory was a response to the disappointment he felt about the negative response from much of the Black community around the Black Panthers' pledge to offer troops to fight against the US in Vietnam. It was an attempt to understand how the world was structured under a new type of imperialism and an attempt at forming a political strategy for the Panthers.

A final version of the speech would eventually be published, with alterations, in 1974 as 'Intercommunalism'.
