Dr. Mustafa Santiago Ali is the Executive Vice President of Conservation & Justice for the National Wildlife Federation (NWF), former Interim Chief of Programs at the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS), and Instructor at American University. He is the Founder and CEO of Revitalization Strategies. He also serves as a commissioner for The American Academy of Arts and Sciences (AAAS). He is an award-winning writer and poet focused on social justice. trump be a sermon of shadows, preachin’ fear in a language that poisons mirrors, makes you doubt your own breath.
he call it strength but we done seen strength in calloused palms voting on empty stomachs. seen it in folk who got more hope than they got rent.
kamala don’t whisper no lies. she say: courage ain’t perfect— it wobbles. it bleeds. but it walks forward anyway. it marches in Memphis. votes in Selma. rises in Brooklyn with a baby on its hip.
america, you got two tongues but only one choice: a future built from the marrow of the brave or a grave dug with the spade of fear.
