Dr Betty Shabazz joined the ancestors (May 28, 1935 - Jun 23, 1997). Born Betty Dean Sanders, she was educator, nursing professional, civil rights advocate best known as the wife of revolutionary leader Malcolm X. Beyond her husband's legacy, she established herself as a formidable force in higher education, a global diplomat and a tireless champion for human rights.
