On Mar 12, 1982: Playwright Charles Fuller wins the Pulitzer Prize for drama for his play ‘A Soldier’s Play’. The story of a Black captain’s search for the murderer of a Black sergeant on a Louisiana army base during WWII. The story would later be turned into a film, 1984’s ‘A Soldier’s Story’, which was nominated for an Academy Award, a Golden Globe and a Writers Guild of America Award.
