President Biden has vowed to nominate a Black woman to the court. This is the fourth installment in a multipart series. This week's installment focuses on Wilhelmina Marie Wright. Born in Norfolk, Virginia. Wright was appointed to the Ramsey County District Court in 2000. She was appointed to the Minnesota Court of Appeals in 2002, In 2012, she became the first African American to serve on the Minnesota Supreme Court. In 2016, she became a Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. She received her undergraduate degree at Yale University and her law degree at Harvard.
