Black Studies

This project is an excellent example of the dynamism of African American Studies. The project outlined below is another example of the continuing efforts to promote the study and extension of the field.

We have a project to document the history of Black Studies Departments/Programs.

Each volume of documents has been compiled by students in a graduate seminar focusing on Black intellectual history.

Here are the first thirteen institutions:
