African Americans have a rich history of involvement in the global world. The Chinese Revolution occurred in 1949. It was the culmination of a two year conflict with the Nationalist government, which fled to Taiwan in 1949. On October 1, 1949, Communist leader Mao Zedong officially declared the creation of the People's Republic of China (PRC). Below please find information about the revolution and African American engagement with its historical and contemporary meanings.
